APSA Spring Forum 2023

APSA will be holding its Autumn forum on 16 May 2023

This will be in London, hosted by the University of Westminster at their Marylebone Campus, 35 Marylebone Road (opposite Madame Tussauds).

The meeting will begin at 10 am and finish by 5 pm.  For those who will be staying over the night before, there will be an opportunity to meet for dinner.

The meeting will give us an opportunity to hear updates from the APSA Committee and others on recent activities, including the APSA response to the ARB Consultation on Education and Training Reforms, and to discuss Practical Training requirements and how to test competency outcomes.

This meeting is open to students and Professional Examiners.  We are hoping that including these groups will result in a well-rounded discussion around our two focused topics, and that this will help inform changes being considered by ARB and RIBA.

The outline agenda is as follows:

* Update from Committee, activities since Autumn Forum

* Updates from ARB, RIBA, SCOSA

* Focused discussion on Practical Training

* Focused discussion on the Test of Competency

* APSA AGM and other matters

Each focused discussion will begin with three short presentations, one from a practice mentor, one from a Professional Studies Adviser and one from a student.

Please let us know of any colleagues with involvement in professional studies teaching and/ or assessment who may wish to be added to APSA’s mailing list in order to be kept informed of forthcoming events and activities.

* PM: Sharing of Good Practice in delivering Professional Studies followed by plenary at 15:00
